What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a science and evidenced based, collaborative, and holistic based treatment that focuses on preventing injury and disability, managing acute and chronic conditions, injury rehabilitation, addressing physical limitations, and patient education/empowerment. The goal of physiotherapy is to help patients achieve optimal function and improve their quality of life, so they can get back to doing what they need and/or love to do.
Physiotherapists use manual techniques and exercise therapy to help patients manage pain, improve functional strength and mobility, and address the root cause of neurological and musculoskeletal dysfunction. Physiotherapists also educate patients on their conditions and provide lifestyle modifications, so patients are empowered to self-manage and take charge of their rehabilitative journey.
Physiotherapists require at minimum 6 years of intense education and 2 years of clinical experience helping patients meet their goals and optimize physical function
