Mohamed Islam ( RP Qualifying)

Mohamed completed a Bachelors of arts in psychology with a concentration in cognitive psychology at Carleton University, where he decided to pursue a career in therapy. Mohamed went on to finish his Masters of psychotherapy and spirituality from Saint Paul University, where he was trained to work with different mental health issues and psychotherapeutic modalities.

During his training, Mohamed worked with clients on a variety of issues, such as chronic mental illness management, trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, sexual orientation exploration, and gender orientation. He uses Cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion focused therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, internal family systems, and psychodynamic therapy in his work. Mohamed fosters a safe space free of judgement, where the client gets to be their true selves and are able to share their experiences.

Mohamed fosters strong therapeutic relationships with his clients through mutual trust, open communication, unconditional acceptance, and collaboration.

Outside of work, Mohamed enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, swimming and scuba diving, and holds a passion for art and graphic design.
