Lystra Thomas (Psychotherapy Intern)

Helping others to reach their full potential whether it is to live through life on an everyday basis or meeting a desired goal. In todays’ society, we are faced with many situations affecting our physical, social, and mental health. So, the biopsychosocial approach is one of my favourite methods used when helping my clients.  Family, religious beliefs, political views, cultural and racial background plays a vital role in making us who we are and being empathic and genuine with my clients in a therapeutic relationship is imperative to me. Whether it is stress, depression, anxiety, or drug addiction, these are some of the areas in which I like to help my clients and is the main reason why I chose this path. Our thoughts, the feelings we experience when having these thoughts, our physical reaction and our behaviour all have a part in helping to recognize the situation at hand. Together we can set goals and work towards achieving them to deal with these situations at a pace that is comfortable for you. I am most obliged to help all in need whether it is directly or by referrals, you would will get the help you require.
