Christina Van Hoof (Psychotherapy Intern)
Christina is a practicum student with the Integra Health Psychotherapy team, Christina embraces a client-centered holistic approach to mental health, rooted in ethical, empirical, and morally sound principles that foster an atmosphere of collaboration, introspection, healing, and growth. Christina aspires to practice from a place of neutrality and compassion, treating each client with respect, dignity, and openness; walking beside them as they uncover new perspectives, explore new ways of being, and grow in resiliency and self-awareness.
Drawing on her experience in mental health and addictions, physical fitness, and business management, Christina is passionate about helping her clients achieve their goals and carve their own path in life. By incorporating biopsychosocial-spiritual principles along with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, mindfulness-based and trauma-informed therapies, Christina strives to cultivate a sense of curiosity, inspire hope, and promote autonomy in her clients. Christina wholeheartedly embraces change as a natural part of one’s existence and perceives challenges as opportunities to deepen connections and reignite vitality.
When not at Integra Health, Christina works in the community as a case manager for people living with severe and persistent mental health conditions, enjoys spending time outdoors with her teenage daughter and their German shepherd Border Collie pup, practices yoga, extreme sports, and takes photographs.
Christina strongly believes that there are many roads that lead to living a fulfilling life; as long as curiosity, willingness, action, collaboration, and clear direction lead the journey, the possibilities are endless.
If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or tired, if life feels heavy or scary… or perhaps mundane… if relationships are difficult to navigate and work is stressful… know that you are never alone and that there is always someone within reach to help you through it.
